To get to this image i clicked on the following linkStore with false front. Vicinity of Selma, Alabama.
Evans, Walker took this picture and it was published in 1936 in Selma, Alabama. The setting of this picture is outside in a rural area in Alabama. The time of this photo is during the day around noon. This building looks like a store that is poorly built. This photograph is surrounded by open land with a few trees and bushs. There are two people in this photograph and the female is wearing a dress and the male is wearing a suit. I believe that the tone of this image is negative because the store is poorly built and worn out. It looks abandoned and the only thing keeping it alive is the few towns people that visit it. Also, its not very populated, it seems like it does not get a lot of costumers.
This picture is negative because the building is old and falling apart. Also, it does not even look like anyone really works there becuase of the working conditions.
If I could ask the photographer questions i would ask him if he knew the person that owned this store and how many costomers a day does he get becuase it looks dead in this picture. Next, I would ask him what he thought about this store and the owner. If he thought he was in good shape or not. By Joshua Bartosiewicz

I got this photo at the following link Negro tenant family who barely lives on the earnings of fifty dollars a year. They pay a standing rent. There are five children working; ages from seven to fourteen. The older children cultivating, the younger children hoeing and chopping. Eutaw, Alabama.
The photo above is of a family (although there are only two in the picture) of five African Americans that are working on a farm during the day. As you can see it doesn’t look like there is really anything there but soil with dead plants. The little boy looks like he is wearing basically a gown like his mother and it is all dirty. This picture is negative tone. To me this is a negative image because the family is in the middle of a field with soil that does not even look at all fertile, trying to make a living of selling food they grow and it looks like nothing is even being grown. Also, the little child in the photo is also working and he looks no older than 10 years old. He could get injured a lot easier, plus he is not wearing shoes so he can cut up his feet easily.
If I could ask the photographer a couple of questions about this particular photo I would first ask what were going through his head when he/she saw families living like this. Was he/she upset that most of the community was living like this, off of $50’s a year for a family of five. Next, I would ask if he/she was part of this family and what their living conditions were like. By Joshua Bartosiewicz

I got this picture at the following link Negro tenant family near Greensboro, Alabama. Delano, Jack took this photograph and it was published in May of 1941. This image consists of 8 black people living in the same house. The male children are wearing overalls and the female children are wearing dresses. It is daytime and the family and friends gathered outside together in a rural area. In the background of this photo is soil, so it seems like the family lives off of growing food and selling it. The house is old and being ripped apart on the side of the house. Also, the overhang looks like it is about to collapse on top of the family. I believe that this picture has a negative tone. I think that the picture is negative because the family looks poor and their house is in poor shape. Also, in the background the soil is not growing any food for them to sell or to eat. In addition, the children in this photo look really bored. I would ask Delano if they had lived near many other families with the same problems with their crops. Also, I would ask him if his house was similar to this photograph. By Joshua Bartosiewicz

Evans, Walker took this picture and it was published in December of 1935. It is a sidewalk in Selma, Alabama. It looks like its in front of a grocery store, and there are people outside. There are four men sitting down outside of the store, and two men inside of the store. One is bending down, and it looks as though he is working on something. The other one looks as though he is about to walk out of the store. The two people inside probably work there. There are alot of advertisements for different kinds of food and drinks on the outside of the building. There doesn't appear to be any women in the photograph. It looks like its around the middle of the afternoon. The tone of this picture is positive, because there doesnt seem to be anything going wrong in it.
Evans, Walker took this picture in December 1935. This is a Cocoa-Cola shack in Selma, Alabama. The photo is taken outside at about noon time because it is so bright out. It looks like a rural area because there is nothing around the shack besides a power line in the top right corner. There are no people around the shack. It could be closed down because the door is not open or there may be people inside the shack. The thing that caught my eye first was the Cocoa-Cola sign on the center of the building. The tone of this picture is negative because there is no life around the building. The building looks very small and cheaply built, it looks like a small storm can destroy the building. If I could ask the photographer questions I would ask him why the shack looks closed at the time, and why there is no life around the store.

This photo was taken by Delano, Jack. The picture was taken on a road near Eutaw, Alabama in May of 1941. The picture was taken outdoors in what looks like a very rural environment. I would say the time of day is noon time because it looks light out. There are two African American woman walking along the side of the road. Both of them look like they have something covering there head, and both are were a dress. I would say they are about 30 or 40 but it is very hard to tell form the angel of the picture. The thing that caught my eye first was the the two woman walking in the middle of nowhere. You can not see any homes or buildings. The only signs of structure is the fence to the left of the road, and the road itself. The tone of the photo is neutral because there is nothing going on. You can't tell where to or why
the woman are walking and besides the two of them there is nothing going on. If i could ask the photographer a question I would ask if he knew the woman and if so, where were they going.

This photo was taken by Evans, Walker in Grensboro, Albama. The picture was taken around 1935 to 1936. The picture was taken from outside the grocery store looking in. It is very light out and it is in a urban setting because there are other stores around it and there is a car to the left of the grocery store. There is only one person in the picture and he is in the doorway of the store to the right of the grocery store. He seems like he is standing around waiting for business. It is hard to tell is the grocery store is open because you can't see anyone in or out if it. The thing that caught my eye first was the street light on the left. I was surprised that those existed in that era. The structures in this picture are two stores connected to each other with no spacing. One is a grocery store and the I cant tell what the other store is. The theme is positive because you can see life and business in the picture. If i could ask the photagrapher a question i would ask if the grocery store was open at the time and if he knew the people that worked there.
